Critical Illness

Group critical illness cover pays a tax-free lump sum to an employee should they be diagnosed with one of a number of defined medical conditions. These vary from provider to provider but will always include cancer, heart attack and stroke.

A minimum of 5 employees are required to instate a policy, but it is an employee benefit that is increasingly valued – 1 in 2 people born after 1960 are likely to be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime.

The tax free lump sum is normally paid after a 14-day survival period and can help solve an employee’s consequent financial problems. Children can be covered at no extra cost and cover for a spouse is available too.
